BRACE Bedrest study kicked off
ESA, with support of CNES, started a new 60-day bedrest study at the MEDES Space Clinic in Toulouse. The study will investigate the efficacy of the combination of cycling exercise and artificial gravity (on a human centrifuge). If effective, it could be used as a potential countermeasure to some of the unwanted changes seen in astronauts in space (e.g. bone demineralisation, muscle atrophy, etc.). The first campaign will run until early Summer. The second campaign will be conducted early 2024. Read more about the study in the following ESA web article.
